Uale Mai is the Samoan Sevens captain and also their top try and points scorer in the IRB World Sevens Series. He is the only Samoan to have received a nomination for the International Rugby Board Awards. He won the IRB International Sevens Player of the Year award in 2006 on November 26th in Glasgow's historic Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum in Britain. He added to this by being named Hong Kong 7s Player of the Tournament in 2007. He is an exciting talent who is comfortable at Fly Half and Scrum Half at 15 a side. In 2008 he was named Samoan Senior Player of the Year and was nominated again for the IRB International Sevens Player of the Year.
